Elephant trekking is a unique opportunity to interact with Thailand’s gentle giants in their native jungle environment. You will also experience a taste of authentic mahout life as you take part in their daily routine with the elephants. Sit atop an elephant’s back in a special basket for two people and you will begin your journey through enchanting jungles exactly the same as Thai people did hundreds years ago. Jungles haven’t changed much since this time, you will see exotic and unique wildlife like nowhere else in the world.A mahout will always be with you and his elephant. He is ready to help in any situation and answer all your questions. He will lead you and the elephant during this 30 minute trek. Along the journey, you will see the strong bond that exists between the mahout and his elephant. The elephant is a part of the mahout’s family and soul.
Elephant trekking is an unforgettable experience and a great activity for kids and the whole family. After the trek is complete, you can stroll down to see the baby elephants. Young elephants are very playful and they love to make new friends. Spend time feeding them and taking photos. Observe their behavior as a scientist would and learn what they are trying to communicate, this experience will be one of the most memorable during your time with us.
Continue your discovery of Thailand’s wildlife with monkeys.
Here you will see the rhesus macaque, one of the best-known Old World species among monkeys. They are brown or grey in color and have a pink face. Rhesus macaques may be found in grasslands, woodlands and in mountainous regions. Rhesus macaques are also skilled swimmers. They still play a significant role in daily life of Thai farmers, sometimes you can see these friendly little creatures in the South of the country, scrambling up the trunks of coconut trees and throwing it to their masters on the ground below.
Monkey performances display not only the humorous behavior, but also their exceptional intelligence. During the 30 minute presentation, the little furry monkeys perform human tasks like riding a tricycle, exercising, hawking trinkets, playing catch, and swimming. They also show off their original trick: picking coconuts. Plenty of monkey-on-your-shoulder audience participation that kids and, you’ll have to admit it, adults love.
Be entranced by the snake show.
Thailand has around 200 species of snakes, of which around 60 are venomous. During the snake show you will see and learn about diffident kinds of snakes; the venomous and harmless, the ones of different colors and sizes. Here you will have a chance not only to watch the mesmerizing show but also to interact closely with some of these mysterious serpents. Feel free to touch them and take a picture while holding a snake on your shoulders. The environment is safe, and the snakes do not pose a threat to you.
However, the snake show itself has a real threat for a snake charmer. One of the most dangerous tricks is kissing a king cobra. The snake charmer dabbles with danger while you, the audience, can watch the tense action safely from your seats.
After this half day tour you will be taken back to your hotel by one of our cars.
The total duration of the tour, including transport to and from your hotel is approximately four-and-a-half hours.
WHAT TO WEAR?
Since elephants like nothing more than to cover themselves with dust and dirt, it is best to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting grubby. Our mahouts ride in bare feet, soft shoes or flip-flops, and we think that is also the best option for you.
WHAT TO BRING?
The day will likely be hot and sunny, so bring sunglasses and a hat. And don’t forget your camera!
